What's in the Ebox box
Your Ebox shipment typically includes everything you need to get online: a modem, a Wi-Fi router, one coaxial cable, one ethernet cable, two power adapters, and a quick-start guide. Some plans include a single combined modem-router unit instead of two separate devices.
Check that all items are present before starting. If anything is missing, contact Ebox support before plugging anything in.
Step-by-step setup
Find your coaxial wall outlet
Locate the round threaded outlet on your wall — typically near where your TV or previous modem was installed. It looks like a small metal screw thread protruding from a wall plate. This is where Ebox's cable signal enters your home.
Connect coaxial cable to modem
Screw one end of the coaxial cable into the wall outlet, hand-tight. Screw the other end into the port on the Ebox modem labelled CABLE, RF, or COAX. Make both connections snug — loose coaxial connections cause signal issues.
Power on the modem
Plug the modem's power adapter into the wall and into the modem. Wait 2-3 minutes for the indicator lights to stabilize. You're looking for steady (not flashing) lights labelled POWER, DOWNSTREAM, UPSTREAM, and ONLINE. If any of these flash continuously for more than 5 minutes, the modem hasn't connected yet — wait a bit longer.
Connect modem to router
Plug one end of the ethernet cable into the modem's LAN or Ethernet port. Plug the other end into the router's WAN or Internet port (usually a different colour from the other ports). If your plan has a combined modem-router unit, skip this step.
Power on the router
Plug in the router's power adapter. Wait 1-2 minutes for it to boot up. The router will broadcast a Wi-Fi network. The default network name (SSID) and password are printed on a sticker on the bottom of the router.
Connect your device
On your phone or laptop, open Wi-Fi settings. Find the network name listed on the router's bottom sticker. Connect using the password also printed on that sticker. Once connected, open a browser and visit any website to confirm you're online.
Customize Wi-Fi name and password (recommended)
Open your browser and navigate to your router's admin page (typically 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1). Log in using the admin credentials on the router's bottom sticker. Change the Wi-Fi network name to something memorable and set a strong password. Save changes — all your devices will need to reconnect using the new credentials.
Common installation problems
Modem lights won't stabilize after 5+ minutes: The coaxial cable may not be making good contact. Disconnect and reconnect both ends, ensuring tight threading. If the issue persists, the wall outlet may not be activated — contact Ebox support.
Wi-Fi connects but no internet: Check that the ethernet cable between modem and router is securely plugged into the correct ports. Restart both devices by unplugging them, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging them back in (modem first, then router).
Slow speeds: Test speed using a wired ethernet connection directly to your laptop. If wired is fast but Wi-Fi is slow, the issue is your Wi-Fi signal. If both are slow, the issue is upstream — contact Ebox support.
Can't find network credentials: The default Wi-Fi name and password are on a sticker on the router's bottom or back. If the sticker is damaged, log in to your Ebox account online to find them.
